As I continue to develop my photo story on the Tippecanoe Township's Volunteer Fire Department, you begin to see how important and tied into the surrounding community they are. As prom-season approaches, parents, teachers and first responders make a push to instill the consequences of drunk driving on the high schoolers. This is done through a live response, called here Every 15 Minutes. There is display is a simulation of a traffic collision, and the first responders react as if it was a real call. Today's simulation was hosted at Harrison High School in West Lafayette, Indiana with first responders from several different Fire Departments, Police Departments, Sheriff's Office and EMTs.

We didn't have anything like this at our high school before our prom, but I had heard about them and seen photos from other news coverage. Knowing it was all fake, when the live call went out and you heard the actors scream, there was still something very chilling about it. It makes you really think.
