Paintball was the first sport that I shot as a photographer, and that was back in 2008. At the time, all I had was my Nikon D80 and an 80-200mm lens, and I had no idea what I was doing.  Now I haven't played, much less thought about paintball in nearly six years, but when I got the chance to photograph World Cup this year, I wanted to take full advantage of the opportunity. I quickly realized that I really didn't know anyone still left in the sport, so from there it was a dash to find a place to crash for the weekend. Luckily, I was able to link up with the dad of an old buddy who I played with, and then he got me in touch with the team Distortion. I followed them from Saturday morning, all the way through winning Finals on Sunday. It was fun reminiscing about the older times, and seeing where the sport has gone. Looking forward to seeing if I'll be back again next year.
